Acute rejection (AR) is the most important postoperative complication in kidney transplant patients and one of the important causes of kidney transplant failure. According to the Banff criteria, AR is divided into antibody-mediated rejection (ABMR) and TCMR. Since the corresponding treatment methods are different, the differential diagnosis of these two rejection reactions is of great clinical significance.
UroMap detection technology collects RNA from urine cells and analyzes the molecular characteristics of CD3ε mRNA, IP-10 mRNA and 18S rRNA in urine cells, which can accurately diagnose TCMR after kidney transplantation (AUC=0.85). Clinical validation of the test involved 4,300 urine samples from 485 kidney transplant patients, and the results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
