Industry News | NephroSant launches urine sample-based kidney transplant rejection diagnostic product

About 20% of kidney transplant patients require retransplantation every year, and acute rejection is an important factor affecting the long-term survival of the transplanted kidney. Early and accurate diagnosis of acute rejection and timely intervention are necessary to maintain the health of the transplanted kidney.

Recently, NephroSant, a cutting-edge technology company focusing on the field of kidney health diagnosis, released QiSant, a detection product for acute rejection of kidney transplants. This product uses urine samples to simultaneously detect multiple biomarkers in urine and comprehensively calculate the Q score of these biomarkers (risk value), to early predict the occurrence of acute rejection and distinguish the types of acute rejection.

The clinical validation results of the test have been published in the journal Science Translational Medicine, using more than 600 samples. The accuracy of the QiSant test in distinguishing acute rejection types (i.e., T cell-mediated rejection and antibody-mediated rejection) can reach 96%, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.99.

In studies related to testing kidney damage, urine is formed by the kidneys, and biomarkers in the urine can directly reflect kidney health. In addition, compared with the method that relies on the threshold of a single indicator to classify rejection and non-rejection patients,It is more scientific and accurate to predict the risk of rejection based on the Q value calculated comprehensively from multiple biomarkers.。
